Whether as the singer of The Police or solo, Sting’s songs have had a decisive influence on pop music from the 70s to the present. He founded the trio Police in 1977, one of the most important and popular groups of the New Wave, released his first solo album in 1985 (“The Dream Of The Blue Turtles”) and rose to become one of the most important songwriters in pop/rock of the noble category. He was also admired as a film actor, wrote an autobiography (“Broken Music”), collected Grammys and other awards, and lectured at universities and colleges on the subject of literature and music. He is one of the TopTen British big earners among pop stars, but never forgot his social responsibility. For example, he was involved with Amnesty International, campaigned for the preservation of the rainforests and still supports indigenous peoples in the Amazon region with his Rainforest Foundation, which supports projects not only in Brazil but also in Madagascar, Thailand, Peru, Congo and Cameroon.
With Simply Sting we present the No1 Tribute Act to The Police and Sting. How they were then, how he is now.
From Roxanne, Message in a Bottle and Every Breath You Take…. to Fields of Gold, Shape of My Heart and Englishman in New York. Simply breathtaking.
